Runners/Water Carriers responsibilities

New or Returning "Runners" or "Water Carriers" Checklist

1. Register yourself as a "Official" with Centrals Juniors AFL Club for the current year

2. Comply with the Officials Code of Conduct

3. Apply for a Bluecard and email all relevant documents to centralsjuniors_secretary@outlook.com or forward active/current bluecard to the Secretary to be uploaded into TidyHQ

4. GAME DAY RESPONSIBILITIES - Applies: Under 11 Mixed and Youth Age Groups

5. 1. RUNNER

      1. Team Runner must wear a Pink Bib (approved by State Manager - Junior Football Operations and displaying AFLQ Juniors logo) as well as either a club polo shirt or club hat

      2. Team Runner may only proceed on to the playing surface to deliver messages from the Coach

      3. Team Runner shall run directly to the player(s) in question, then proceed directly from the field and shall return to the coach’s box or designated area

      4. At no time is a Team Runner permitted to perform the duties of a Water Carrier

      5. Team Runner must have their name entered on the team sheet (printed copies and in Footyweb)

   2. WATER CARRIERS (4 Permitted)

      1. Water Carriers are not permitted to enter the coach’s box at any time during play

      2. At no time are Water Carriers to deliver messages to players

      3. Water Carriers be of a suitable age for the particular age group

      4. If not delivering water, Water Carriers must stay off the playing surface and behind the boundary line to enable the Boundary Umpire to carry out their duties

      5. After delivering water, Water Carriers must leave the field of play by the most direct route and remain behind the boundary line, out of the path of the Boundary Umpire

      6. A maximum of four (4) names must be entered on the team sheet (printed copies and in Footyweb)

      7. Water Carriers must wear a White Bib (approved by State Manager - Junior Football Operations and displaying AFLQ Juniors logo) as well as either a club polo shirt or club hat

6. Vote on end of season Best & Fairest Player if requeseted by the Team Manager (Competitve Age-group's only)
